ARP 4000® Get-Your-Feet-Wet Startup Guide

ARP 4000® is a professional-grade, tall oil (pine tree derivative) asphalt shingle rejuvenator/preservative formulated to extend and restore shingle flexibility, increase adhesion to the asphalt base, prevent granular loss, and restore color depth to aging roofs.

Equipment

• Ladder with stabilizer (height appropriate for the job)
• (2) VEVOR 4 Gallon Battery Backpack Sprayers, 2 Wands & 8 Nozzles, retractable wand, adjustable 0-90 PSI, 4H Runtime, at Vevor.com $112 each. These sprayers are recommended to get you started with our Get-Your-Feet-Wet program. It is recommended that one sprayer be used only for ARP 4000® use and one sprayer be used only for ARP 2000®.

ARP 4000® Roof Extender Treatment (Highly concentrated)

Dry Time: 30-60 minutes to touch, fully absorbed within 24 hours

Container Size:   (5) gallon bucket of highly concentrated product

Coverage Rate:   3,000-4,000 sq. ft. per 5 gallons (depending on shingle age and porosity)

Recommended Application Temperatures:   40-90 degrees F

Equipment Clean-up: Clean with soap and water before it dries.

Inspection, Prep, and Application

Ensure the roof is clean and dry. Blow off debris. Inspect and repair any damaged shingles or flashing separations. If the customer reports they currently have leaks before you treat their roof, those leaks need to be repaired before applying ARP 4000®.

Dilute (5) gallons of ARP 4000® concentrate (1 part concentrate, 2 parts water mix for 2-3 minutes with mixing paddle). Repeat occasionally to maintain the mixture. Yields 15 gallons of ready-to-apply solution.

ARP 4000® APPLICATION

Do not apply during windy or rainy conditions. Apply ARP 4000® using a backpack sprayer or a skid-mounted high-volume sprayer. Blow the roof clear of debris.  Apply evenly in a consistent fan pattern from the eaves to the ridges, avoiding pooling. Do not walk on treated areas. The initial applied appearance should be white with a spray pattern that's visible. The product will dry clear. Slightly overlap patterns for proper coverage. Leave yourself a pathway off the roof back to your ladder, don't ("paint yourself into a corner").

Post Application

Allow 30-60 minutes dry time. ARP 4000® fully cures within 24 hours.

These software service providers include printable measurement and pitch angles, which enable you to quote your customers a price while you're talking with them, whether it's in person or during a phone call. You never have to say "I'll get back to you with a price" or climb up on a roof just to make measurements.

ARP 2000® BIO SAFE ROOF AND GENERAL CLEANING APPLICATION

Personal Protective Equipment It is suggested to wear safety goggles and chemical/water-resistant gloves when handling and applying the ARP 2000 Bio Safe Cleaner for roofs and general cleaning.

Mixing the Activator: Before application, add the Accelerator to the ARP 2000 cleaning solution. Stir or gently agitate the mixture until the accelerator is completely dissolved. Do not mix more than you will need in 24 hours. If mixed in the Roof Cleaner container, do NOT replace the cap after mixing. Do not mix in a metal container. It is recommended that you mix the activator and ARP 2000 in a clean 5-gallon bucket just for that purpose.

Application: Use a backpack or skid-mounted sprayer. Apply the activated ARP 2000 ARP 2000 cleaning solution liberally onto the surface to be treated. Test the product on a small, inconspicuous spot before using. Allow the ARP 2000 to penetrate the surface for 15-30 minutes; an additional application or light scrubbing may be required based on varying levels of stains and debris.

Note: If applying ARP 2000 cleaner in direct sunlight or in a warm environment, ensure the surface remains wet with the cleaning solution while it penetrates tough stains.

Clean Up: After the application and stain penetration time, rinse or spray wash the surface while it is still wet to remove the remaining debris before drying.
